Mangunan Pine Forest - The Exotic Natural Forest

Now I'll take you to the southeast area of Yogyakarta City. The first spot I'd like to introduce you is Mangunan Pine Forest. It is the natural pine forest which is located in Dlingo, Mangunan, Bantul, Yogyakarta. 

General Information

This pine forest has around 500 Ha width. Before becoming the tourism object, it was empty and infertile. Since the location is on the high area, to avoid the slide land, the civils did the reforestation. There were some trees that they planted on this area such as pine, acacia, mahogany, and many more. As the time goes by, the pine forest area is not only become the protection forest, but it is developed in to the great tourism object. As one of the tourism spots, there are some facilities provided in this pine forest, they are toilet, parking area, cafetaria, mosque, and also the outdoor stage. The outdoor stage itself is categorized as the newest facility there. On this stage, there are some shows that can be performed, such as theater, traditional event, story telling (fairy tale), open-door seminar, and many more. In front of the stage, the are some audiences' seats which made of the original pine woods which make it much more natural. Some people love to use this open-door stage for their events, because the audience can both enjoy the show while feeling the natural weather. Not only the pine forest which is very popular in this area, there is also Bengkung Spring which believed by the civils that it was the meditation spot of Sultan Agung Hanyakrakusuma that invites some of the visitors to come here.

Fun Activities

There are some activities that you can do here. The first one of course enjoying the natural sensation while immortalizing every moment by taking pictures. In addition, you also see the wonderful scenery all around by going up the tree using the provided ladder to step on the provided stage up of the tree. From this higher spot, for sure you will see the beautiful view of the village area under the hill. For those who like sport, jogging on this area at the morning will become the great experience. While for the bikers, you can challenge yourself to come here by riding your bicycle, for sure it will improve your own adrenalin since the location is on the high area, so your bicycling skill is very needed to reach this area. In some occation, when there is an even at the stage, you can also come here for vacation while having experience of watching the show at the outdoor fantastic stage. For the couple, taking pre-wedding pictures on this are will become a wonderful moment since there  are some beautiful and nice view to support the photograph. For this pre-wedding purpose, the pine forest organizer provides some special spots since there are so many couples conduct their pre-wedding photo session on this pine forest spot. Ticketting Price and Access

You will not asked to pay the ticketting entrance when you visit this spot. You only need to pay the parking fee as much IDR 3.000 (for motorcycle) and IDR 10.000 (for car). This pine forest object opens everyday. The access to here is quite easy also. From Yogyakarta city, you just go to Bantul Regency direction, after arriving in Bantul Regency area, there are some direction planks which will make your trip easier. So whenever you go to Yogyakarta, especially Bantul and you need the relaxed atmosphere, just come and enjoy your moment at Pine Forest Mangunan.
